We are a counselling service and we respect your privacy and confidentiality. We do not sell your information and only ever market directly to those that have used the service or signed up. We don’t use a marketing company, so you really won’t hear from us very often at all and certainly won’t spam you or sell your data.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
we collect your name and email for correspondence purposes.
We collect relevant personal data for your case file and notes and counselling plan as relevant to your service and this information is not kept online. It is kept offline in a secured manner.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Who we share your data with
Aside from advertising cookies and anonymous website data, we don’t share data.
We do not share any private information whatsoever without your express consent.
We DO have mandatory reporting requirements, of which you will be informed of commencing sessions with us, which requires us to report any and all risk of self harm, risk to others and any reasonable belief that children may be harmed or at risk.
We adhere to the privacy act 1988(CtH) and take your privacy very very seriously.
How long we retain your data
We will retain your personal data for the duration of your sessions and a period of two years thereafter, or to local requirements of data retention. After this period any data will be destroyed wholly and fully.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
You are entitled to see any case notes or files we create for counselling or Theraputic purposes and we are happy to disclose this information at any time by written request, please email us and allow up to 48 hours to reply.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
We only ever disclose your data with your express consent for referal purposes to agents or bodies relevant to your expressed goals.
Your contact information
We will retain this for the duration of your using the service and may retain this for future contact and administration purposes.
How we protect your data
We use secure databases to protect your data on the website and do not store your case files or notes online.
Industry regulatory disclosure requirements
We have mandatory reporting requirements of risk of harm to self, others and children. This includes domestic violence and reasonable belief others or yourself may be at risk of harm.
